The TRUTH of the matter is that racism and the mistreatment of Black Americans started years before #georgefloyd. Wet nurses in slavery were FORCED to nurse their “master’s” children before their own. Often times the children of Black slaves went malnourished and neglected for months on end. While we as midwives advocate to “normalize breastfeeding” I guarantee this isn’t what we had in mind. #mskmidwife #normalizebreastfeeding #stoptheviolence #stopkillingus #stopusingus #speaktruth
